Pay/Print in effect at FFB

Fairfield begins charging for printing Thursday, September 18. Aside from one problem with a coin box this morning that will be repaired shortly, the implementation has gone very well. Many patrons have already printed (and paid) succesfully. One thing that is nice that we didn't expect: a print job can be paid for and released from any print release station. If a printer goes down, the print job remains available from any other release station/printer. This way, patrons print jobs are not lost and we do not have to go around re-assigning clients to new printers. As previously announced, we plan on installing at OXB next, sometime after their new PCs are installed later in October. We'll do LPL as the renovation reaches completion. Thanks to Heidi Patterson (Systems) for coming in early to prepare the clients this week and working with Millenium Printing during this transition. Thanks also to FFB IS and Children's Dept. staffs for picking up the new process so quickly.
