Voters overwhelmingly approved Lane’s five-year, 0.75-mill levy 12,705 votes to 6,993, or 64.5 percent to 35.5 percent, according to final, unofficial results from the Butler and Preble county boards of elections. Never before in the Lane Libraries’ 144-year history had it placed a levy on the ballot.

new Ohio eBook features

On the OEP page, you will notice:

1) Patron-defined lending periods start today. At check-out, patrons have a choice of either 7 or 14 day circulation for all materials.

2) There are now over 400 EPUB titles available for patrons. This format is similar to the Adobe PDF eBook format and uses the same software and is available on the same computers and portable devices as the Adobe PDF eBook format.

OEP update

On April 30, OverDrive should be updating the Ohio eBook Project website to include the following:

  • We will welcome a new public library member. I’ll let you know which library on April 30.
  • Patron star ratings and other social networking features will be integrated into the OEP website (e.g. patrons can make updates on Facebook/Twitter via the OEP).
  • Patron-defined lending periods will change from 14 days for all formats to patrons having a choice of either 7 or 14 days for all formats.
  • EPUB titles will become visible to patrons. You may have noticed that OEP members can currently purchase EPUB titles in Content Reserve, but these won’t be available for patrons to access until April 30.
  • The mobile version of the OEP website will be available at a later date.
